Start A Garden (startagarden.org) is a responsive website that allows a user to easily learn about starting a container garden. This was a solution for the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) Hackathon 2014. Start A Garden won the hackathon, and was voted Audience Favorite at the PHA Summit 2014 where Michelle Obama was the keynote speaker.

A user can learn what they can grow in containers they have, like a solo cup or milk jug. OR, if they have seeds, such as cucumbers, the site can tell them containers that would work for that vegetable or herb. Start A Garden is a team of 4, and my role has been user experience and interface design, and leading the product direction. It is the first project that I have coded - I worked on the front-end, using Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and Slim (the back-end was coded with Ruby on Rails).
